This is a basic Southern fried chicken recipe, and it is easy and delicious.

Southern Fried Chicken Recipe


  • 8-10 Chicken Drumettes
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups white all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tsp creole seasoning
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 Tbs paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin


  • Soak the chicken in the buttermilk for about 2 ours in the refrigerator
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour and seasonings and mix well
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk and set on a plate
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, followed by the buttermilk and then once more into the flour mixture
  • Place each piece of chicken into the fry basket
  • Place the fry basket into the Power air Fryer XL
  • Press the M button and scroll over to the chicken icon
  • adjust cook time to 20 minutes at 360 degrees and begin
  • Turn chicken with tongs about every 5 minutes to prevent any sticking
  • Serve immediately
